Initiation is a series of five photographs which together convey a sense of encounter. In these images fragmented light and deep shadow are used to create a space with which to explore sexuality. Creating a tension between what is revealed and what remains hidden, to evoke the imagination. Darkness is used to disguise context within the image, hiding location, age and gender is deliberately ambiguous. Shot on medium format film with square format. Printed as c-type photographs at life-size scale and diasec mounted.
