In place of being is a series of dark portraits with figures masked with shadow or breaking through it. The darkness in these images is offered as an unseen presence or space of possibility. Printed at life-size scale, there are large areas of darkness which become immersive. The black gloss holds a depth which draws the eye closer, whilst the surface creates a dark mirror.
